Acer Tree Surgeons was set up by Nick Cranston. Having worked as a freelance tree surgeon, Nick was keen to lay down his own standards of arboricultural practice and look to lead the field in the South West region. The team is fully insured to £5 million public indemnity (£10 million employers liability) and all of the team are fully NPTC qualified (www.nptc.org.uk) and all work is to BS 3998 as required by HSE. Nick is degree qualified with a BA (Hons), and holds the prestigious Arboriclutural technicians certificate with merit as well as the National Certificate (City & Guilds) in Arboriculture. He also provides full support in on a consultancy basis to developers providing surveys, method statements and impact assessments to BS 5837: 2005 'Trees in Relation to Construction'.
Nick is also a committed technician member of the Arboricultural Association

Prior to his career in tree surgery, Nick was formally an Army Captain and so brings his passion, enthusiasm and his determination to achieve the highest standards of professionalism from his military career to the arboricultural industry.
